Today, the internet is integral to our lives, benefiting virtually every industry—from grocery stores and banks to taxi services. Regardless of your future occupation, your career will benefit from understanding the underlying principles of computer networks.
This course explores the relatively simple principles that enabled the creation of one of the most complex systems ever developed: the internet. We will examine its components level by level, providing a comprehensive overview of how it functions.
Rather than training network engineers, this course aims to offer a broad perspective on the workings of the internet.

Linux CLI Experience: Basic familiarity with Linux is recommended.
Python Knowledge: Basic understanding of Python is helpful.
Methodology
The course spans three weeks with daily three-hour on-site sessions, balancing 30% lectures and 70% hands-on activities. Lectures will cover internet fundamentals and network protocols, while practical lab sessions will allow students to apply their knowledge using tools like Wireshark and configuring network components. Students will complete individual assignments and group projects to deepen their understanding. Assessments include a midterm and a final exam, along with continuous evaluation through lab work. Interactive elements such as discussions and group work will enhance learning and collaboration, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of networking concepts and skills.

Anton is a proficient software engineer with over 8 years of industry experience. He is currently working as a backend engineer at Byrd GmbH, a European startup providing digital and scalable fulfillment solutions. He earned his Master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Applied Science. In addition to his professional expertise, he has also contributed to various open-source projects.
